Understanding Bag Limits and Regulations

The IDNR sets bag limits to ensure a sustainable deer population and maintain a balance between hunters and the environment. For the 2025 season, the bag limit is two (2) deer, with no antlerless deer allowed during the firearms season. Of the two allowed deer, one may be a deer with either seven (7) or more points on one antler, while the second deer may be any buck, regardless of antler size.
